The Ecology & Behaviour
● Ctenocephalides felis can bite the human body, the common bites for the foot and lower legs
● Ctenocephalides canis feed on the blood of dogs and cats, and occasionally bite
humans. They can jump about 18.3 cm high, thus jumping back and forth in
different hosts
● Pulex Irritans are commonly found on dogs, rats and humans where the bite can be painful for up to a week

● Itchy skin from the bite
● Diseases transmitted by fleas (eg, plague, endemic typhus, helminths)
